Grand Teton National Park was established in 1929, and named after the tallest mountain in the Teton Range. It is considered to have an almost pristine ecosystem because many of their animals and plants have existed there since pre-historic times! The first people to arrive in the area were nomadic Paleo-Indians 11,000 years ago.
The Grand Teton Association was created almost 100 years ago, and continues today to provide education and conservation resources for the National Park.
Happy National Park Week!
