Canyon De Chelly National Monument WNPA 1938

On this last day of National Park Week, we’re featuring The Western National Parks Association (WNPA) and the beautiful and historic Canyon de Chelly National Monument.

Canyon de Chelly has been continuously populated for over 5,000 years, and is currently inhabited and farmed by the Navajo Nation.

The Western National Parks Association (WNPA) was created in 1938, and now spreads to 12 states, and almost 70 National Parks, Preserves, Historic Sites, and Monuments.

Their partnership with the National Park Service enhances education, research, and community outreach to ensure nature, conservation, cultural history, and wildlife can be appreciated by everyone.

Happy National Park Week!
