Due to their perceived threat to livestock, wolves were eradicated from California in the 20th century. So when a lone wolf wandered down from Oregon in 2011, it made worldwide news. Their recovery is considered very new, so it's encouraging their population just increased by 11 pups from two different wolf packs! No wonder this little guy is howling for joy!
