Today marks the anniversary of the very first movie screening! In Paris on December 28, 1895, just a few years after printed flipbooks made the idea of movies possible, the Lumiere brothers showed 10 short films. Each was just a few seconds long, but it was the first time in a theater on a big screen to a paying audience, of 33 people. Happy National Short Film Day!
