Butterflies are back!
Butterflies California Monarch Butterflies
After years of a steep decline in numbers (from millions in the 1990's to a virtual handful last year), Monarch Butterflies are returning to California! Currently, a few hundred thousand are overwintering in monarch groves along the California Coast. Scientists are unsure why, and remind us they're still endangered, but for now, it's an encouraging and uplifting sight. You can see these beautiful creatures for yourself at the monarch groves all along California's coast.
