Mountain lions tend to avoid populated areas, but the Santa Monica mountains outside Los Angeles have enough food, water, and room to make living with 10 million neighbors tolerable. In fact, two mountain lions in the area have changed their routine to adapt to their urban environment. Instead of being active during the day, these two are now most active at night when most people are sleeping.
